Concept to Print Trying to construct better images is a difficult task and I have traveled thousands of miles to see other professionals at work in an attempt to help me gain as much knowledge as possible. Although quite a lot of the advice was repetitive there were things said and done that I could relate to in my thirst for improvement of all aspects of my photography.
This book has come after many years of being asked at lectures if I have any written material available. It is not about the finite technicalities of my computer, darkroom or camera work – there are plenty of books on the market already that adequately cover these topics. It is intended to inspire the reader in to understanding portraits and their construction, using images from my own portfolio to demonstrate the principles.
